Rule out medical problems
Fatigue is a common symptom of many things. It’s also a common side-effect for medications. Make sure nothing like that is going on, or if it is, that you know about it and are aware that you’re dealing with it.
This might sound like an impossible task or a silly idea, but exercise actually improves energy levels. “Exercise has consistently been linked to improved vigor and overall quality of life,” says Kerry J. Stewart, professor of medicine and director of clinical and research exercise physiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. “People who become active have a greater sense of self-confidence. But exercise also improves the working efficiency of your heart, lungs, and muscles,” Stewart says. “That’s the equivalent of improving the fuel efficiency of a car. It gives you more energy for any kind of activity.”
Take breaks from technology
Being overwhelmed with information all the time can cause fatigue. Consider setting aside blocks of time to have everything turned off.
Learn to say no
Fatigue can, of course, be caused by constant activity. It can also be exhausting to always be doing what other people want you to do. Taking time for yourself on a regular basis can battle fatigue. It’s important to have excess energy for yourself.
Reduce sugar intake
This only applies if you’re eating too much sugar. It gives you a short energy burst and then a crash. Not only cut back on sugar but also eat healthily. Plant-based foods are a great choice. This can give you excess energy.
Drink more water
This is a big one and one that’s rarely done to the extent it should be done. If you’ve never heard this before, it might sound impossible, but if you drink consistently throughout the day, it’s definitely possible. Then once you get used to it, you won’t be able to imagine not doing it. Men should drink at least 120 ounces, and women should drink at least 80 ounces.
Eat regularly throughout the day
Snacking on healthy food, such as a fruit, can help stave off fatigue. Eating provides excess energy.
Resolve interpersonal conflict
It’s simple: negativity drains you. If you’re wasting time holding energy on a massive scales, that is draining your energy on a massive scale.
This only applies if you’re actually overweight, meaning, according to a doctor you’re overweight. Being overweight depletes your energy.
Cut down on caffeine and alcohol
I’m not saying to quit drinking them entirely. It’s just that when in excess they cause a lot of problems, such as fatigue.
