Do You Have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?

Do you have fatigue that has lasted longer than six months, can’t be explained by an underlying medical condition, and worsens with any physical or mental exertion but doesn’t get better with rest? Those are its primary identifiers. If you experience those things, then it’s worth seeing if you experience any of these other things:

  1. Sleep that doesn’t seem to restore you.
  2. Difficulties with memory, focus, and concentration.
  3. Frequent dizziness.

There is no single test that can tell whether or not you have chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Single tests are done to rule out other possibilities, eventually leaving CFS as the most likely culprit. Symptoms are different for everybody, and their severity fluctuates throughout the day and from day to day. The rest of the symptoms are:

  1. Sore throat
  2. Headaches
  3. Enlarged lymph nodes in your neck or armpits
  4. Unexplained muscle or joint pain

See your doctor if you are experiencing a significant number of these symptoms.
